Financial Adviser Weekly Movement - November 12, 2020

Not a good week for the numbers, with a net loss of 45 adviser roles. Most noticeable is the loss of 12 roles at AMP Financial Planning (AMP FP) and they have now dropped to below 900 advisers, sitting at 899. At the beginning of July this year they had 1,020 roles and started the year with 1,156 roles.

Not so noticeable but worth investigating, was the fact that 5 licensees dropped to zero advisers for the week. Only 1 of the five had 2 roles, the remaining 4 all only had 1 role each. We did see two new licensees commence with 1 adviser each, Peritia Wealth under adviser Darrin Newport, ex Crown Wealth and Lambert Group commenced with adviser Rowan Keast, ex VIAFGSA - Via Financial Advisers.

Year to date we have seen 142 licensees fall to zero current advisers after starting the year with either 1 or 2 advisers. There have been 82 licensees commence during the year (zero advisers) and now have either 1 or 2 advisers.

We did see 4 licensees gain a net growth of 2 adviser roles for the week - United Global Capital, Private Wealth Pty Ltd, GPS Wealth and Fortnum. Fortnum picked up two from RI Advice and GPS gained 1 adviser from Meritum and the other from Consilium.

One new ‘Provisional Adviser’ added for the week by Financial Foundations. Total number of appointed provisional advisers now sits at 44 - see dashboard 11.

On a final note, for those of you interested and a high level view of the diversity in financial planning, we have provided a new dashboard -14. This lists the most popular first names and last names for advisers. If you would like to see more details, such as diversity (male / female, years of experience etc) between peer groups and licensees, please contact me directly.
