Financial Adviser Exam Analysis - August Sitting, 2025
On September 5, 2025, ASIC announced the results of the August 2025 Financial Adviser Exam. We have compared this data with past results since August 2022.
In summary, the data indicates a slow down to the number of candidates sitting and passing the exam.

A total of 152 candidates passed the exam, five fewer than June 2025 and nine more than August 2024
The pass mark was 69%, slightly above the long-term average of 67%. It was 66% in June 2025 and 62% in August 2024
221 candidates took the exam, the lowest since November 2023 (219). It was 231 in August 2024 and 237 in June 2025.
59 candidates have taken the exam at least twice, a number steady since 2023.
In the three exams for 2025, 699 candidates sat the exam and 486 passed. In the same period for 2024, a greater number had taken the exam at 764, with 518 passes, 32 more than 2025
To date, 20,546 candidates have past the exam, but only 15,387 advisers were active, a difference of 5,159. In August 2024, this gap was 4,355, an increase of 804.
The 5,159 who passed but aren’t practicing equals 33.53% of active advisers, up from 28.13% in August 2024.
