Financial Adviser Market Insights, April 9, 2026
Adviser Numbers Decreased by (-88) for the week moving from 15,147 To 15,059
A large drop in the number of advisers, driven by what appears the closure of the SMSF Adviser Network licensee. The number of advisers ceased at the SMSF Adviser Network this week was 85 and the licence is now showing zero advisers. The name has been changed on the ASIC records to it’s ACN Number 155 907 681 and the website cannot be accessed.
The licence is controlled by the National Tax & Accountants’ Association Ltd (NTAA). We have contacted NTAA and at the time of writing, we have not received a response to our inquiry.
The SMSF Adviser Network licence offered restricted adviser services to provide mostly limited advice associated with Superannuation.
NTAA also control Advice Assist Australia, a licence that is less restrictive. This is currently showing as having 15 advisers, including two that switched this week from the SMSF Adviser Network.
In what is otherwise a quieter week, due in part to the Easter holidays, three new licensee commenced, one ceased. Ten new entrants commenced.
We can expect the number of new entrants to remain strong over the coming weeks as the Financial Adviser Exam results for March were released with 209 Pass Exam. - See Financial Adviser Exam Details Here
